Candy table whoop!!!

My love for gingham goes way back 30 years. When I was a baby I had a complete yellow and white gingham set up. I’m talking clothes, crib, blankets, teddy bear, room decorations, etc. I think being surrounded by that happy print and color may have contributed to my current obsession with it. Maybe?

We have been incorporating it into the wedding with hopes of not turning the theme into a family BBQ. So far I used it in our cake topper and today’s candy table banners.
I totally scored when I found some gingham curtains at the salvation army for a few bucks. Made it super simple for today’s craft. No sewing required! Always a good thing for me haha.

Let them eat pies

We having pies at our wedding in lieu of cake. Ryan’s grandma is making red hot apple pies and Tom (JB) Mcloughlin cut tree stumps (pie stands) out of his grandmas favorite tree. 🙂 it’s going to be awesome!
I cut burlap and then painted the letters with a stencil. Ryan is a pro at the thread injector aka sewing machine, so he sewed them so we could thread lace through to make our banner. I used the same lace that I used for the lace backdrop I made months earlier. I think it will look great and it’s cool to use my grandma’s materials. She’d be proud. 🙂

Here’s some pics of mock ups I did of the pie table. Just imagine the wood stumps with amazing apple pies on them.

Wedding invitations are ready! And some more crafting

I had Lauren Jensen make our wedding invitations for us. She is an incredibly talented artist and in the animation program at San Jose State. She painted portraits of Ryan and I and then uploaded the pictures and designed our invitations and RSVP cards. I love them!
I bought recycled paper and envelopes and we printed them at Kathleen and Scott’s on St. Patty’s day. Because the invites were JPEG’s it took a really long time to print. We spent 11 hours printing!!! But the quality was great and well worth it. The recycled paper put funny spots on our portraits but I think it gives invitations character.

I bought wax and a wax sealer that matched the invites. Ryan and I sealed each envelope.

Ryan and I have also been doing quite a bit of crafting. I’ll save the boring details and just post the pics.

Sign making with the Stanley’s and Valentine’s day

Ryan’s youngest sister, Noelle, is a fantastic artist. I asked her to make some signs for the wedding. I remembered Jake making a really cool sign for me with each letter being a different animal or character. Ryan and I thought it would be cool if Jake designed the fun and games sign.

We got everyone at the house to help paint. It was pretty awesome. The signs turned out great!

I really wanted to make a cool sign for our wedding. Ryan and I went to home depot and got wood and nails and then headed over to Joanne’s for yarn. Check it out!

This was a great week. Kathleen is such a thoughtful lady. She sent me a beautifully wrapped present. What girl doesn’t like a pretty present. What was even better was what was inside. Awww so happy!
